Is Dundee home to the best independent pub in Scotland?
Well, no, not yet. But it could be.
Broughty Ferry pub The Fort could be named Independent Bar of the Year at the 20th annual Scottish Bar and Pub awards.
The family-run pub has made the final four in the category which aims to showcase the establishment whose customer service, creative thinking and business development have made them stand out from the crowd.
Its not the first time that The Fort bar has come in for praise though, as in 2012 it was named Scotland's best pub.
But it's not just The Fort that's up for an award with three other local watering holes in with chance of success at the prestigious awards.
Clarks on Lindsay Street is a finalist in two different categories; the Tennents Quality Award and the Diageo Social Responsibility.
Tickety Boos is competing against Clarks in the Diageo Social Responsibility category, while The Ship Inn is a finalist in the Parlez Gastro Pub section.
The winning pubs will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony, organised by industry publication The DRAM on Tuesday, August 11.
Event organiser and DRAM publisher Susan Young said: “The Scottish licensed trade never ceases to amaze me.
"Just when I think the standard of entry can't be topped, I'm blown away yet again by how licensees get behind these awards year after year."
But wait, there's more!
In a lucky twist of fate STV Dundee is hosting a pub quiz at The Fort bar for the STV Children's Appeal on Thursday, so come on down and see if you can beat us!
